To be deleted- 2024

The video-installation under title of “To be deleted”:

This video installation is inspired by the censorship and removals that occur when artists’ works are confronted by government institutions, art institutions, and the artists themselves. Weaving a motif came from my experience of creating a cover to prevent the work from being removed in one of my exhibitions. And in the installation section, I hung this motif from the ceiling and placed works below it that have been denied permission to be exhibited many times before by government institutions and gallery owners.
In the video, a number of artists also tell documented stories of their experiences that led to the removal of their works. These narratives were sent to me through a call I posted on social media.

My works were censored many times, either by myself or by those around me, or by the institutions that determined the audits/ what is  prohibited and what is not prohibited/ my experience with censorship/ our  lifestyle/ you are touching To a  self-censorship / You learned a  routine from childhood / I will tell you about self-censorship / I want to tell you about the work that was censored / Well, before the book was published / I had to show the four photos /  Censorship has become an internal  thing / I always At work, I feel like I have a bit of  self-censorship/ Naturally, we had to send the book to the Ministry of  Culture and Guidance/ I was forced to delete/ it was an  internal matter/ and the opening day of the gallery director/ it should be  deleted/ from the kind of  instrumental view of women/ I tried I will not censor myself/ I tell myself, let me write freely and freely  as I want/ the main director of the  institution and gallery came and, I am going to self-censor myself. It  can be censored/ my approach is  more in that direction/ and I put  several filters on the photos/ get  permission/ I put three filters on the photos and  again the gallery owner said no/  three corrections/ we will be stuck/  after That I put the filters/ We were  waiting for permission/ The book  went and I started knitting/ That  should change/ Censorship is very,  very hard/ Knitting was a cover for  these photos/ My statement is not  on the wall/ You get used to it/ And  the gallery owner said It is not  possible to present something like  this/ only the statement of my work is not on the wall/ our life is full of  censorship/ the entrance to the  forbidden parts of that work I put it/ and we removed it so that no problem happens to you/ because  you believe it/ it is as if we are living  in this censorship/ we have Bahram Sadeghi but we don’t have it in our  generation/ it has become an  inseparable part of life/ that is why  we In the past period, we have someone like  Sadegh Chubak, but we don’t have it  in our generation/ I have to try not to self-censor myself/ Maybe the photos became visually  more beautiful/ I don’t know/ But this was not what I wanted to present.
